about.
CARLA KARINA, 1975. Born and lives at Brasília.
Her interest in art dates back to childhood. As a child, she was inspired by the family's daily life to portray moments through naive drawings, but meticulous for a child's perspective. Over the years, curiosity for the human body led her into science, where she saw beauty in every detail of the architecture created by the Divine. The idea of uniting science and art fulfilled a desire to be able to translate and share her vision and feelings regarding natural human beauty.
She graduated in Dentistry from the University of Brasília in 1999, and became a Master in Health Sciences in 2005 from the same university. In addition to performing clinical care, she taught and developed research in the health area.
From 2013, she decided to follow a parallel path. She expanded and intensified her studies within the universe of Art, being transported to a world of happiness, love and poetry through painting. She studied painting with Felipe Salsano and Marco Costerus, watercolor with Eudes Correia and Luciana Casales, and art history with André Dorigo. She also participated in the selection process for the 2019 Luxembourg Art Prize, organized by the private museum Pinacoteca, located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The demonstration of the interaction between body and soul is a common feature in her works. The anatomy and proportions of the face are strong factors that inspire it.
Currently, the use of geometry, perspective and colors emits a feeling of energy and vibration in pictorial compositions, which translate the metamorphosis of science into art.
